The decision is made. This is how it takes root.

You acknowledged that you've broken God's Law. And you've made the decision to repent — to turn from your sin — and to place your trust in Jesus Christ alone.

If you've genuinely repented and trusted in the Saviour, God has forgiven every sin you've ever committed and granted you eternal life. Not because you earned it — but because of what Christ did on the cross.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." — 2 Corinthians 5:17

If what you heard is true, what would that change for you?

Have you ever considered that the discomfort you feel might be your conscience agreeing with God's standard?

What would it take for you to investigate this further?
