God's standard
The Ten Commandments are not suggestions. They are God's moral law — a perfect reflection of His character. They tell us what is right and what is wrong, not based on culture or opinion, but based on the nature of God Himself.

It's not just murder and theft

Everyone has sinned
Romans 3:23 does not say 'some have sinned' or 'really bad people have sinned.' It says all. Every human being who has ever lived — except Jesus — has broken God's Law.
This is not about being 'good enough.' It's about being perfect — because that is God's standard. And none of us are. Not the religious leader, not the moral philosopher, not the person who volunteers every weekend. All have sinned.
